CALIFORNIA CITY - A Fresno investor has opened an escrow to purchase two
                         partially-completed buildings at California City Municipal Airport that were begun by Matrix
                         Motors.

                         Tariq Faridi also plans to build a three-story skilled nursing facility and make other investments
                         in the city including a retirement village.

                         Faridi said Tuesday that he plans to complete construction of the two major buildings begun by
                         Matrix in the airport industrial park and build the small building in the center.

                         "That will become our office and our headquarters," said Faridi, who was checking local real
                         estate sites this week with Al Gagnon, a CalCity real estate professional.

                         When completed by Faridi, the buildings will house two businesses: Nourish America, Inc., a
                         company that restores classic automobiles, and a business that manufactures shopping mall
                         kiosks for Cable Car Coffee.

                         Faridi said 30 to over 40 employees will be employed initially.

                         "It could be higher," he said.

                         Food products

                         Nourish America manufactures food products from soy. The firm has contracts with over 200
                         rescue missions to furnish milk, ice cream and tofu to the organizations that feed the homeless
                         and destitute across the country.

                         According to the firm's website, Nourish America was formed from five organizations
                         "involved in American health and wellness for over 18 years."

                         Faridi is described as a "walking encyclopedia and alternative-medicine crusader."

                         Skilled nursing facility

                         Now living in Fresno, Faridi said he is building a home in California City. "We're also doing a
                         joint venture with General Electric Capital's modular space division to build a retirement
                         village, a skilled nursing facility, and assisted-living homes in the next six to nine months," he
                         said.

                         GE Capital will handle liaison with state government agencies on obtaining approvals for the
                         facilities, Faridi said.

                         Although the nursing facility will use modular components, "You will not be able to tell - it will
                         look like a regular three-story facility." It will be located on 12 acres Faridi said the city is
                         giving him next to the current medical complex.

                         Choosing CalCity

                         Asked why he chose to move to California City, Faridi had high praise for city officials.

                         "I was able to make an offer on 122 lots in bankruptcy - that was my initial interest. After
                         meeting the mayor and city manager I found out how easy and cooperative and friendly they
                         are in getting permits through," he said, adding that he's been waiting for seven months for
                         decisions on lots in two Fresno County communities.

                         "Here, I'm ready to break ground and my excavation crew is here and we're ready to start
                         building within the next two weeks," Faridi said. City Manager Jack Stewart was out of the
                         state and not available for comment on Faridi's plans and timetable.
