AES Pacific Buys Land to Construct
$300 Million Power Plant
MOJAVE / CALIFORNIA CITY — AES Pacific plans to build a $300 million power plant close to Mojave/California City and has purchased land there. Rod Martin of AES said, "We will be using proven technology, but not cutting edge technology". The plant will have two gas and one steam turbine. Each turbin will be capable of producing 200 megawatts of electricity and will employ approximately 100 people. AES was recently purchased by Enron Corporation.
